Had the pleasure of being a part of another maternity session, this time for my friend and colleague. This was the 4th maternity session I have done this week. I started off the session with the usual, getting in the shot that my clients would like to accomplish first. In this case, this beautiful couple had purchased a nice bronze metal "R" (first letter of their baby's name) and wanted to incorporate it into the session.
This lovely young couple, so full of love and a strong sense of family. There is no doubt their love will carry them to great heights and their child will never be short of love. Thank you both for trusting in me to capture and be a part of your moment.

From creepy psycho child in the American Horror shoot just this past October, to playing in the mud for the Mud Shoot - this lovely young woman will turn your head and make you say WOW! When I first met Sev at the American Horror shoot - she left me with nightmares for days to follow...haha! But I knew, she would be perfect in any setting - another natural!
I finally had the opportunity to capture her in her natural state of beauty! This session, while no glamour involved - it was every bit as glamorous in my eyes. We took the most simplest of outfits...and turned the ordinary into the extraordinary ;)
This was by far a great session! I know I most often say that about almost all my sessions, but there are those select few in which all the elements and the Universe conspire to come together to make it all turn out perfect - this is one of those sessions. Sev is such a wonderful Sprite - yes, I said Sprite. She reminds me of a little wood fae...so carefree, comfortable in her element and the Earth just loves to feel her bare feet upon her.

What a wonderful maternity session this was. It was such a joy to experience the excitement and the love that Allison & Josh were emanating as first time expecting parents. After 10 beautiful years of marriage, they have decided to finally create a little spark of joy to bring into the world.
When Allison first contacted me, she had only wanted to get some simple pictures done - just one or two photos perhaps. Something to capture their first moment as expecting parents. I was thrilled at the opportunity that presented itself...a chance to photograph the essence of "new" parents to be & more so, an opportunity to be a part of their moment.
We did their session right outside the condo area. It was perfect! We had the option of getting a few shots done in the grassy area out back, and then move down towards the beach just as the "golden moment" time of day was starting to settle in. My first priority when I arrive for any of my sessions, is to greet my clients and engage in small talk...it helps set a comfortable tone and I am able to attune myself to their energy which I use to guide the flow of the session. First thing on the agenda is covering any ideas for shots that my client may have...in this case, Allison and I were spot on with each other for our first shot. She had gone out and purchased a cute set of wooden blocks to spell out her baby's name and having her and Josh faded out in the background. I had also brought along my wooden blocks which were just a tad smaller than hers for the same idea :) I love it when great minds think alike!
I also wanted to include something, a toy or a stuffed animal that would belong to Alexis when she arrives to greet the world. So while Josh went up to their condo to retrieve the item, Allison and I talked some and I captured this beautiful shot of her just as she stepped into the sun's rays....
After a few more shots, we closed out our session and this beautiful couple decided to gift me with their set of wooden blocks we used for the shoot. I had commented that I definitely liked her set better because the size was perfect (not so big and yet not so small). I was thrilled at the gesture and expressed my humble gratitude. It's good people such as the Champagne's that keeps me inspired to continue seeing the love and purity that I know exists in the heart of each human being. They are already on their way to being great parents! Thank you Allison and Josh for trusting in me to Capture your Moment and for the opportunity to be a part of it. I can't wait until Alexis is born...newborn session in the making :)
On the drive out, I was able to pull over nearby and enjoy the setting sun. What a beautiful ending to an awesome afternoon! Follow me or visit my FB page to see more beautiful photos from the Champagne's maternity session.
I had the extreme pleasure of working with a very bold, bright and confident soul for my first maternity boudoir. This young woman radiated with an ultimate glow that doesn't just come with pregnancy, but more so with being confident in her pregnancy and embracing the beauty of it.
I especially love the simplicity behind the moment and the softness of her aura through out the shoot. We went through a few changes in clothing, and she never skipped a beat - the whole session seemed to flow naturally for her. There was no "obvious" evidence of glamour....no exotic clothing...over done makeup and no "glitz". Everything in simple form - natural beauty at it's finest!
As we were wrapping up our afternoon session, her little man awoke from his nap and was a bit curious as to the new face in his home and my bag of holiday props I brought along just in case. So of course, natural photographer instincts took over and I snapped a few shots of this curious, handsome, golden haired fellow :)
I can't wait for when her hubby returns in the next week or so, and we can do family maternity session!
